A Nation of Idiots

If you are easily offended, do not purchase this book.
Daksh Tyagi's humorous and incredibly entertaining bestseller, "An Indian citizen's guide on how to avoid A Nation of Idiots," tackles the awkward, the disconcerting, and the sometimes misinterpreted aspects of contemporary Indian life, drawing inspiration from genuine incidents.

We Indians are a fascinating group.
Though tolerant of religious intolerance, I am intolerant of the intolerance argument. Although we adhere to long-standing customs, a holiday can change our accent. For us, a godman is an antidepressant, religion is a line of control, and caste and community are symbols of trust.
We will stop on a zebra crossing, but we won't stop at a zebra crossing. We construct things to demonstrate our value and destroy things to make a point. Although we adore the idea of independence, we nonetheless rely on our parents to raise us. We also wrote the Kamasutra. We also botched sex, so it's easy to forget.

So how can we distinguish between the real and the fake? Is it the nutty or the farcical? And what distinguishes the insane from the utterly absurd?
Simple. We simply follow along.

'A Nation of Idiots' by Daksh Tyagi is a humorous and perceptive book that is the perfect manual for navigating contemporary Indian life without losing your dignity.
