On 30th April 2025, Wednesday, we were privileged to witness an utterly transformative literary and cultural evening — the launch of Shamans of the Himalayas, a riveting new book by award-winning documentary filmmaker and author Anu Malhotra. Held at the elite India International Centre, New Delhi, the evening saw all this from 6 PM to 9 PM, and it was an assembly of art admirers, spiritual explorers, authors, and cultural aficionados.

The evening was further enriched with the visit of Pavan K. Varma, renowned diplomat, writer, and cultural critic, who joined the event as the Guest of Honour. His thoughtful remarks ushered in the tone for an evening that looked deep into crossroads of tradition, storytelling, and mystical beliefs of Himalayan shamans.

With this release, Anu Malhotra did not simply release a book, but opened doors to an experience of living into the world of Himalayan shamans' lives, rituals, and spiritual insight — one that she has ardently discovered over years of sojourns, studies, and documentation. The evening was charged, marked by spurts of amazement, contemplation, and rich conversation that provided deeper insights into India's intangible spiritual heritage.
