Frontlist | Jammu author’s book nominated at Valley of Words Lit Fest
A Jammu author’s book highlighting role of State forces during tribal attack on J&K in 1947, was nominated at the Valley of Words Lit Fest.
“In the Nick of Time: Saving Kashmir Valley 1947-48” , a book authored by son of the soil, Col Ajay Raina, was selected for re-release and nominated for the Best Non-Fiction category during the recently concluded Valley of Words Lit and Cultural Fest at Dehradun.
The event this year was held online because of Covid scenario. It is a reputed fest that sees the participation from across the globe. It was held under the patronage of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA). The work by the author was personally by Sanjay Chopra, Director of the institution.
As part of the book release, the author was interviewed by an eminent film maker and military historian, Shiv Kunal Verma. During the interview, the author highlighted the role of the State forces in saving the State prior to and even after the arrival of India forces. Role of State forces, massacres in Mirpur and Rajouri and such like important kegs in the history of the State, which have been simply ignored by the mainstream authors, were highlighted during the interview.
