The Federation of Indian Publishers is the representative body of publishers in English, Hindi and other regional Languages with its membership from all over India, representing more than 80 per cent of the publishing industry.  All the leading publishers of the country are its direct members, other publishers being represented through various local associations. Moreover, this Federation is a member of the International Publishers Association (IPA), Geneva and the  Hony. Joint Secretary, Mr Pranav Gupta is an Executive Committee member of IPA.  In the past our President Emeritus,  Shri Asoke K. Ghosh has held the position of Vice President of IPA. The Awards for Excellence in Book Production, one of its kind awards, which are given every year, are industry benchmarks in assessing national book production standards.  The objective of the competition for Awards is to motivate publishers to improve the quality of production of books not only in the area of paper, printing and binding but also designing and typography, layout and readability, and the general feel of the book.  The Awards used to be restricted to only members of the Publishers Associations have now been made open to all publishers.  Any publisher in India is eligible to compete.  The public sector publishing houses, the Universities and State Textbook Bureaus are also eligible to participate in this competition. What a memorable experience it was at the 41st Annual Awards for Excellence in Book Production 2021. Compliments to everyone who has won in the awards ceremony.
