The city’s book lovers had an enjoyable time recently as they trooped into a bookstore at Bandra for a book launch. It was for Manu Dhawan’s dramatic debut novel. Singer Neeti Mohan, musician Raghav Sachar and actor Priyanshu Painyuli unveiled the book.
The event was hosted by Ritesh Menon, writer and director. After he welcomed guests and introduced the author, the audience got a chance to hear Manu speak about his inspiration for writing and how he balances his dual role of a corporate professional and a writer. He spoke about how he thoroughly enjoyed the process of ideas floating in his mind getting converted into words and stories. He also delved into the challenges of writing his very first novel and how he overcame them.
On being asked questions about his book, the author said, “It’s a coming-of-age story of a man put in a treacherous situation with only his determination and grandfather’s love to stand by him. When you piece together three generations of powerful fathers and defiant sons, it makes for a very combustible melting pot!”
Adding to the sentiment, Neeti Mohan said, “Manu’s writing is intuitive, fiery and bold! You grow, feel, laugh, cry and celebrate with the characters.”
