The Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) will now take place from February 24-26, 2023, due to a date change. Originally, the event was scheduled to occur in Bhubaneswar from December 16–20.

In Bhubaneswar, almost 400 influential people from the fields of literature, film, journalism, and politics will gather to discuss the topic "India and the World."

India speaks and writes in a wide variety of languages. The "Marga" and "Deshi" traditions will be highlighted in the festival to encourage greater inclusivity across the country, language, and folklore.

Multiple facets of the connections between literature, freedom, republican values, cultural diversity, and social equity will be covered during the three-day festival.

The main sessions will cover issues such as democracy, cultural nationalism, Generation Y, Indian languages, the publishing industry, mythology, media, market, children, women, and transgenders, as well as subjects like ethics, discrimination, revolutions, creating peace, resolving conflicts, and harmony.

There will be several one-on-one meetings with top authorities on the topics. There will be storytelling sessions, which should give the festival's literary vibe a fresh twist.

Aside from this, the festival will see the publication of more than 30 new books and monographs.

During the festival, the Kalinga Literary Award, the Kalinga International Literary Award, the Kalinga Karubaki Literary Award for women writers, and the Kalinga Literary Youth Award will all be presented to notable writers in the Odia language.

KLF's founder and director, Rashmi Ranjan Parida, said, "The Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF), now in its ninth year, promises to be hopeful and upbeat. We are happy to restore the literary spirit's joy to Bhubaneswar, a city known for its temples."
