New Imprint Launched by HarperCollins Christian Publishing

HarperCollins Christian Publishing has announced that it will launch a new imprint called Harper Catholic, which is intended to provide a way to expand their Catholic publishing program. This imprint will help expand the existing Catholic publishing initiative of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, which includes Catholic Bible Press.

Harper Catholic will publish a wide range of titles, including devotionals, memoirs, cultural commentary, Christian living books and works of theology. According to HarperCollins Christian Publishing president and CEO Mark Schoenwald, the imprint builds on the company's existing foundation while creating new opportunities to serve the Church and connect with readers globally.

The new imprint will be led by Kristi McDonald, who has 15 years of experience in Catholic publishing, acquisitions, editorial development and author relations. Before joining Harper Catholic, McDonald worked as a content editor at the prayer app Hallow and spent 14 years at Ave Maria Press, where she held several editorial and acquisitions positions, eventually becoming executive editor of trade.

"Imprint will center on the discovery of new and existing authors and the development of books using the Catholic tradition of Scripture, sacrament, and the saints in response to the needs of contemporary readers," says McDonald.

"The imprint has already begun receiving submissions from new book proposals, and its acquisitions are anticipated to be revealed later this year." Launching this imprint represents a major step forward in HarperCollins Christian Publishing’s plans to publish more Catholic titles.
