USISPF Launches 'We The People - 250 Voices' Book Celebrating U.S.-India Relations

The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) has launched the second edition of its coffee table book, We The People – 250 Voices: A Tribute to the 250 Voices that Shaped the U.S.–India Relations, celebrating the remarkable individuals who have strengthened ties between India and the United States over the decades.

The book was unveiled on June 29 during USISPF's flagship leadership summit in Washington, D.C., held under the theme America@250 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence. The launch was accompanied by a special video highlighting the vision behind the publication.

The latest edition brings together 250 influential personalities from diverse walks of life whose work has contributed to deepening diplomatic, cultural, economic, and people-to-people connections between the two nations. The list spans artists, academics, entrepreneurs, diplomats, policymakers, scientists, business leaders, healthcare professionals, and cultural icons—both past and present.

According to USISPF, the publication is not intended to be a definitive list but rather a tribute to individuals whose contributions have helped shape one of the world's most significant strategic partnerships. The organization also acknowledged that countless others have played, and will continue to play, an important role in strengthening India-U.S. relations.

The coffee table book features historic figures such as Abraham Lincoln and Mahatma Gandhi, alongside contemporary leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. It also recognizes influential names from business, culture, science, and civil society, including Indra Nooyi, Ajay Banga, Shantanu Narayen, Sunita Williams, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, A.R. Rahman, Padma Lakshmi, Mira Nair, Hasan Minhaj, Anoushka Shankar, and His Holiness the Dalai Lama, among many others.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mukesh Aghi, President and CEO of USISPF, said the organization's mission has always been to transform strategic intent into meaningful outcomes.

"We have seen firsthand how our work is carried forward both by institutions and by people who believe in the potential of this relationship and invest their energy, expertise, and ambition in its growth. This book is a tribute to those individuals," he said.

This is the second publication in the We The People series. The first edition, released in 2022, commemorated 75 years of India-U.S. diplomatic relations and celebrated the milestone through stories of individuals who strengthened bilateral ties.

The launch also received appreciation from the Indo-American Arts Council (IAAC), which congratulated several of its patrons, collaborators, and supporters featured in the book. Among those recognized were Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, Consul General of India in New York; renowned art historian John Guy; historian and former Christie's executive Hugo Weihe; and Purna Saggurti of Bank of America.

With We The People – 250 Voices, USISPF continues to highlight the individuals whose leadership, innovation, and cultural influence have helped shape one of the most dynamic international partnerships of the modern era.
