Unprecedented response received to Rajkamal Online Book Fair

A large number of readers attended Rajkamal Online Book Fair which was started off for the first time. Rajkamal Prakashan Group is India’s leading publishing house. It was a historic response to a first-ever fair where more than 40 countries participated in it. Reading enthusiasts from Delhi, Jaipur, Patna, and Lucknow joined the fair in big numbers. More than 16000 first-time readers attended the fair where more than 50% audience was youth. Approximately 1.5 lakh readers from across the country as well as abroad participated in this 16-day online book fair. It was organized at the time when the Delhi World Book Fair was scheduled in January but was postponed due to the pandemic. Huge disappointment and an atmosphere of despair was created among all the book lovers. However, Rajkamal Prakashan initiative to start off this online book fair brought cheers to book enthusiasts. Rajkamal Online Book Fair began on January 16th and went on till January 31st. Most readers attended from metropolitan cities in India like Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow whereas readers from countries abroad like America, China, United Kingdom, Canada, Nepal, United Arab Emirates, France, Netherlands, Turkey, Russia, Japan, Bhutan, Italy, Malaysia, Brazil, and Surinamese showed great interest. Amod Maheshwari, CEO of Rajkamal Publications Group, shared some words and commented on the successful completion of the virtual book fair, said that the enthusiasm and support from readers was overwhelming as a massive amount of people joined them during this period. This was their debut online book fair and the response inspired them to organise such events in the future as well. New books were launched during the fair, including Ashok Kumar Pandey's 'Savarkar: Kala Pani aur Uske Baad', Krishna Kalpit's poetry collection 'Rekhte Ke Beej', Kumar Ambuj's poetry collection 'Upshashak', Nilesh Raghuvanshi's novel 'Shahar Se Dus Kilometre Dur,' and others. During the fair, readers were majorly drawn to books in the Editor's Choice category. It is worth observing that the decision to organize this online book fair by Rajkamal Prakashan Group was taken due to the postponement of the World Book Fair so that all the book lovers can enjoy the online book fair and get to experience the world of books while sitting at home.
