The Dakani Adab Foundation's Deccan Literature Festival 2023 will take place on November 25 and 26 at Pune's Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir. Although the festival is free and open to the public, organisers recommend that attendees register in advance at https://deccanlitfest.com/.
The event will feature performances and debates with panellists by prominent authors, acclaimed performers, and other folk artists over the course of two days. Ghazals, Hindustani poetry, qawwalis, and vibrant theatre performances by established and rising artists await attendees.

The inauguration, which is slated for 11 a.m. on November 25, will be attended by National award-winning actor, screenwriter, and film director Saurabh Shukla. The ceremony will be attended by dignitaries such as Divisional Commissioner of Pune, IAS Saurabh Rao, Additional Director General (Force One) IPS Krishna Prakash, Indian theatre director & academician Waman Kendre, and former president of Akhil Bhartiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan Vasant Abaji Dahake.

The Deccan Literature Festival's Curator, Monika Singh, stated the festival's commitment to celebrating literature in Marathi, Hindi, and Urdu. She emphasised the diverse offers, which included entertainers, literary luminaries, and artists from several art sectors.

The programme will cover a variety of art and literature topics.

The festival's lineup includes actors Saurabh Shukla, Salim Arif and Waman Kendre from the theatre, and authors Devdutt Pattanaik and Sudha Menon. Over the course of two days, the programme will cover a variety of art and literature topics.

A Coffee Table Talk between Saurabh Shukla and Salim Arif, a programme called 'Don Shatakanchya Sandhyavaril Marathi Kavita' featuring Marathi poets, a Panel Discussion, a folk-art performance called 'Nautanki,' and the evening's finale, 'Rang - Grand Mushaira,' a blend of Shayari and Poetry, are among the highlights of the first day.

The second day begins with a chat between Waman Kendre and Mrunmayee Bhajak, followed by a programme featuring Devdutt Pattanaik and Sudha Menon. A round table discussion on Marathi literature, a theatre called 'Humsafar,' and a poetry and ghazal mehfil called 'Humava' are all on the agenda. Surender Sharma will recite, while Ustad Shujat Husain Khan will perform a Sufi Musical Evening.

The Dakani Adab Foundation, founded in 2019, intends to promote literary and cultural interchange. The Deccan Literature Festival has grown into an important arts and literature event, attracting visitors from Pune and beyond.
