He honoured 1277 best performing teachers of Fatehgarh Sahib district and schools showing 100 per cent results and for contributing to turning out the schools as smart schools. He also distributed appreciation letters to the teachers. He said that all best performing teachers of the state will be honoured and till now 22000 teachers of nine districts of Punjab stands honoured. Krishan Kumar added, “In today's era of competition, providing basic education to the children is our moral duty and teachers have a great contribution towards this. I hope that the teachers will show the best results with their hard work and dedication. With the cooperation of NRIs, Panchayat, School Managements and Teachers over 3400 schools in Punjab has turned out as ‘smart schools’ which are very appreciable and it is hoped that the efforts will be continued in future too.” He said while appreciating the teachers said that with the continuous efforts of school teachers and representatives during the last two years, remarkable achievement on the level of education has been noticed. He expressed gratitude towards smart schools and said that teachers and school representatives of primary and secondary schools have implemented the campaign wholeheartedly to make the name of Punjab state in good place in India. With the introduction of e-contents, learning for students has become more interesting and easy. He said that e-contents of all related topics of the academic session has been prepared by the teachers of the education department and now the e-contents are being used judiciously and students get more encouragement for learning in classrooms. During this he congratulated the teachers for their better performance and encouraged them, to provide qualitative and quantitative education to the students.
