T L Swan, a romance author, is launching Keeperton, a new publishing endeavor for digital-first authors, and has already secured worldwide distribution through Simon & Schuster beginning May 1, 2024.

In addition to offering more traditional publishing options, the new company will allow digital-first authors to release print editions of their work into bookstores while retaining digital rights.

"Keeperton's mission is to empower authors and foster the creation of future bestsellers," stated Swan, author of The Miles High Club series.

"We understand authors' needs and objectives since we are authors ourselves. Our ultimate goal is to provide our authors with the materials and support they require to fulfill their publication objectives, make bestseller lists, and go beyond."

The company plans to launch its first imprint, Arndell, in the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom in August 2024. It will specialize in Romance. Further development ambitions include the launch of imprints in crime and thriller, nonfiction, and fantasy. Kellie Clarke has been hired as the publisher's general manager, reporting to Christine Bendorf, director of acquisitions and strategy, and Keeley Doherty, head of publishing operations.

Keeperton makes its debut with Swan's novel The Bonus (Arndell), which will be published in the United States on August 13, 2024, with a special print version with bonus chapters not available in digital mode. In addition, the publisher will release Swan's the Mr series (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform) in bookshops around the world immediately after The Bonus.

"We are delighted to welcome T L Swan and Keeperton to our family of distribution clients," said Michael Perlman, senior vice president and general manager at Simon & Schuster Publisher Services. "We look forward to supporting their publishing programme and working with them to bring their authors and titles to a wide audience."
