From April 16 to April 25, the Publishers and Booksellers Guild will host 'Nababarsha Boi Utsab' at Taltala ground, adjacent to a mall on Prince Anwar Shah Road.

Sirshendu Mukhopadhyay, a prominent writer, will open the book fair, which is being planned with the assistance of KMC, KMDA, and Samanvaya Parishad, a club in Ward 93. The fair will be open from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. for ten days.

"Since the Kolkata International Book Fair has been shifted to Salt Lake Central Park, all residents from south Kolkata cannot go there," said Tridib Chatterjee, general secretary of the guild.

They had wished for a book fair in south Kolkata. The chief minister had instructed us to plan something for the Bengali New Year. There will be around 84 vendors, including those selling small periodicals and snacks on the ground. We suggest the publishers provide clients with a 20% discount." He also stated that if the local city officials assist them in organizing the book fair, it will become an annual event.

Meanwhile, Chatterjee said they had been asked to participate in a book festival in Bangladesh in July.
