The Jeddah Superdome, the biggest freestanding dome in the world according to Guinness World Records, hosted the Jeddah Book Fair 2022 (or "JBF"). More than 900 local, regional, and worldwide publishing firms will participate in this year's Fair, which has the theme "A Glimpse Into the Future Through Books" and runs through December 17.

Jeddah Book Fair, the third significant international book fair in Saudi Arabia, highlights the country's diversity of aspiration and opportunity and strengthens the Kingdom's status as a key center for publishing and literary interchange on the international stage.

JBF satisfies the growing want for information and offers chances for collaboration and investment. By hosting occasions like these, we provide Saudis access to this rapidly increasing field and invite guests and participants from all over the world to take part in the expansion of this significant industry.

"This year, we are thrilled to introduce two 'firsts' for the Kingdom: The Science Fiction Conference, which brought together top experts in science fiction and fantasy fiction to examine the unrealized potential of these genres, and the Digital Publishing Conference, which examined the most recent technological advancements and best practices in the industry," Dr. Alwan continued.

The Science Fiction Conference, which took place between December 8 and 9, gave attendees of the fair the chance to listen in on panel discussions with notable science fiction authors and experts, including Matthew Reinhardt, an illustrator of children's pop-up books, Richard Morgan, author of Altered Carbon, and Mohamed Diab, screenwriter, and director of Moon Knight Marvel.

The Digital Publishing Conference, which took place on December 10 and featured a variety of seminars and panel discussions examining important subjects within the boundaries of digital publishing, was another first for the Kingdom.

In panel discussions, professionals from Saudi Arabia and other countries offered their expertise on the best methods for marketing, distribution, and translation.

The Jeddah Book Fair builds on the achievements of the Medina and Riyadh International Book Fairs, both of which took place earlier this year. Over a million people visited the Riyadh International Book Fair this year throughout its ten-day run.
