On the Occasion of its 60th Anniversary, Bologna Children's Book Fair Establishes a Rights Center for Adult Trade Publishing

The Bologna Children's Book Event is expanding participation in the center of its right to experts from across the industry for the fair in 2023.

The decision to broaden the fair's rights center to adult commercial publishing coincides with the fair's 60th anniversary.

"Our BCBF Agents' Centre has experienced great success over many years, and it is a logical next step in its growth that we welcome a larger audience from the rights trading groups," said director Elena Pasoli in a statement. "Offering additional chances to the larger publishing sector is an excellent way to commemorate Bologna's milestone birthday."

After being postponed for two years due to the epidemic, the key event for children's publishers was convened in person earlier this year. The festival is traditionally well attended by Canadian publishers, with 35 participating in the 2022 show as exhibitors or through Livres Canada Books' marketing collective.

Bologna is the premier worldwide exhibition for children's book publishing, attracting over 1,500 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors from over 100 countries each year. The 2023 edition will be held in Bologna, Italy, from March 6 to 9.
