The National Reading Programme (NRP) will organize a marathon on 27 January on the sidelines of the 53rd Cairo International Book Fair in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The marathon aims to encourage youths to attend the Cairo Book Fair and urge them to read to spread and develop awareness and knowledge.

The marathon also aims to maximize a sense of belonging by supporting national and human values, which contributes to promoting Egypt’s cultural leadership globally.

The second seminar aims to present some success stories related to reading and the use of the Arabic language.

The NRP comes within Egypt’s Agenda of 2030 Vision, in cooperation with the United Arab of Emirates. The NRP is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Al Azhar, the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Culture, the Egyptian Knowledge Bank. The programme will run for 10 years, with EGP 500m investment, divided into EGP 50m each year.
