Malala Yousafzai Announces New Book Deal with Atria Books

Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate and novelist, stated on social media on April 17, 2023, that she is working on a new book. While the title and publishing date of her next book has yet to be released, it is known that Atria Books will publish it.

Yousafzai previously wrote her best-selling memoir 'I Am Malala: The Story of a Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban' in 2013. She was just 17 years old when she was given the Nobel Peace Prize a year later! Her first novel was released almost a decade ago. She has now graduated from Oxford University and married Asser Malik, a member of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Yousafzai is well-known for her activism and support for educating women and girls.

"I am thrilled to announce that I am hard at work on my next book!" "The last few years of my life have been marked by extraordinary transformation — finding independence, partnership, and, eventually, myself," Yousafzai said on Twitter.

"This is my most personal book yet, and I hope that readers will find recognition, reassurance, and insight in my story," she stated in a statement released by Atria Books.

According to the publisher, Yousafzai's next book is about identification and coming-of-age in public. A distinct version for young readers, as well as picture books, are also in the works.

Meanwhile, Yousafzai has her own production business, Extracurricular, working on various film and television projects. Among her past novels are 'Malala's Magic Pencil' and 'We Are Displaced,' among others.
