With book reading habits declining in the digital age, Kitab Lovers, an outfit that specialises in selling books at low prices, has devised a unique "Load the Box" concept for their ongoing book fair in Mysuru.

The 9-day book expo, hosted by Kitab Lovers in collaboration with Mysuru Book Clubs 2015 and held at Nexus Centre City Mall from March 30 to April 7, would showcase over 10 lakh new and "pre-loved" books from more than 20 categories.

"What distinguishes the book fair is its original 'Load the Box' idea, which allows clients to pay once for a box and load it with as many books as the box can hold. The boxes come in three sizes, ranging from ₹1,200 to ₹3,000, according to a statement from the organizers.

Rahul Pandey, co-founder and CEO of Kitab Lovers, stated that the current book fair was their second collaboration with Mysuru Book Club in the city. "Our book fair provides books at the most inexpensive prices and, more significantly, serves a diverse variety of book readers. We have books for everyone, from babies to senior citizens, whether they enjoy mystery, self-help, romance, fiction, or nonfiction," he stated.

Pointing out that Indians' book-reading habits had declined in the digital age, Mr. Rahul stated that "the internet and social media offered tremendous entertainment, but they can never replace the wealth of knowledge that a good book can offer," while urging people, particularly parents, to visit the book fair simply to browse through the books on display and see if they can "fall in love with reading again."

Kitab Lovers, which has staged over 100 book fairs in more than 20 cities across India, will also have a special section for freshly released novels, including selected writers from across the country, according to a press statement.

On Saturday and Sunday, Mysuru Book Clubs - 2015 arranged a local author meet-up programme as part of the Book Fair.
