Khanna Boy Sets Record with 962 Shuttle Strikes in 19 Mins

Ekam Singh Aujla (12) of Nasrali village in Khanna district entered the India Book of Records 2025-26 by striking a shuttlecock 962 times in 19 minutes and 24 seconds.
Ekam, a Class VII student of Radha Vatika Senior Secondary School, Khanna, struck the shuttle with his right hand. The previous record was of striking the shuttle 409 times in 11 minutes 39 seconds.
Ekam's father Jasvir Singh Aujla added that he has been getting congratulatory messages ever since his son has reached the success.
He added, "Ekam used to practice for 2 to 3 hours daily. I motivated him a lot and finally after months of efforts, Ekam tasted success," said Aujla. He further added that Ekam doesn't waste time on cellphone or other electronic devices and also enjoys swimming and football.
Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond also felicitated Ekam for his performance at a function organized at Nasrali. Sond stated children were the future of the country and parents ought to encourage them to participate in sports.
Ekam claimed that this was his first achievement and it will be a stepping stone for him to win medals on behalf of the country in the future. "My parents are actually my support. They have provided me with freedom to do whatever I wish to do," he mentioned, adding that PV Sindhu and Shi Yuqi are his idol.
