The International Society of Automation (ISA), being the premier global professional organization serving automation engineers and experts, has announced its strategic co-publishing alliance with global publishing leader Wiley, recognized around the world for its high-quality and authoritative scientific and technical publications.
As part of this collaboration, Wiley will assume control of ISA’s current backlist of 70 or so automation-related publications and will also work with ISA on new and revised books that cover important technical topics related to industrial automation. For example, under the new relationship, Wiley and ISA will publish five new books this year, including an updated version of ISA’s best-selling *A Guide to the Automation Body of Knowledge* (*Fourth Edition*), with the goal of publishing five to eight books per year featuring the latest technology and standards related to automation.
While ISA retains full independence and control over the technical content of its products, Wiley provides global distribution reach, editorial expertise, and market strength to help ISA's educational resources and reference works reach a wider audience of professionals and learners worldwide.
According to Rick Zabel, ISA's managing director for publications and Automation.com, the partnership will greatly expand access to ISA's trusted guidance during a time of tremendous growth in automation across industries worldwide. The group vice president for Advanced Content at Wiley also added that the partnership epitomizes how specialist societies can scale the impact of their publishing while maintaining editorial quality.
