Chilika Book Fair 2026 to Debut in Balugaon, Bringing Literature to the Lakeside

The attempt to establish a link between literature and nature will not remain confined to imagination as this year, a book fair will be organized at Balugaon, a place in Khordha District of Odisha. The name of this event will be 'Chilika Book Fair,' which is going to be held from 24th April to 28th April in 2026.

Preparations for organizing this event are now under way. As part of the preparations, the team members of this book fair conducted a meeting presided over by Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan at his residence. Members belonging to the Cuttack and Bhubaneswar Publishers' Association attended this meeting.

As many as eighty stalls will participate in this event. All kinds of books published by popular publishing houses in Odisha will be displayed at the stalls. With a variety of publications ranging from traditional literature to modern one, the book fair will be catering to the taste of the audience. Additionally, there will also be some food stalls at the venue of the fair.

The fair will get its official opening through the Deputy Chief Minister, Prabhat Tripathy, along with the Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan. The organizers have a hope that through this fair, a reading culture as well as a vibrant platform for literature can be created here.

As it is an interesting destination and also organizes different kinds of activities, the Chilika Book Fair will definitely attract people from all over the state of Odisha.
