Books are being used by China to justify wrongful claims over Tibet

Lhasa [Tibet], September 14 (ANI): China is currently utilizing literature to distort the perception of its invasion of Tibet and legitimize its erroneous claims over the region, in order to uphold its repeated claim over the territory.

According to a Tibet Rights Collectives report, the Chinese Communist Party is attempting to put China's version of Tibet's history in the minds of young people by producing and distributing multilingual editions of history books to books authored by Chinese President Xi Jinping himself.

According to some accounts, China has been attempting to introduce the Chinese Communist Party-approved "Encyclopedia of Ethnic Unity and Progress (Tibet Volume)" in Tibetan schools and universities, which follows China's narrative of Tibet's history.

According to reports, the CCP is also producing and distributing multilingual editions of the book "Excerpts from Xi Jinping's Discussions on Respecting and Protecting Human Rights" in Tibetan territories.

The Institute of Party History and Literature of the Communist Party of China Central Committee developed and translated the Chinese-Russian, Chinese-French, Chinese-Spanish, and Chinese-Japanese versions of the discourses, according to the Tibet Rights Collectives.

In an article published on September 11, the Chinese media cited the book "When Serfs Stood Up in Tibet," written by American writer Anna Louis Strong in 1965, as one of the greatest works for anybody interested in the history of Tibet's democratic revolution.

According to the essay, Strong makes a significant comment on Tibet, the snowy plateau, as a member of the foreign press in 1959, when the People's Liberation Army (PLA) quashed a revolt trying to overthrow democratic reform.

"Tibet was experiencing a tremendous change, which regenerated this snowy plateau, according to Strong's own views." This is consistent with the CCP's account of Tibet's history and its narrative that China "liberated" Tibet, both of which are distorted versions of reality.

The piece went on to condemn "uncritical thinking, poor reporting, and even willful misinterpretation of Tibet" that "remain popular in Western media outlets."

"These are armchair authors who believe that Tibet exists only in their imagination, refusing to accept or admit "actual growth" in the real Tibet," it said.

According to the Tibet Rights Collectives, any assault or criticism of China's treatment of Tibetans in Tibet is labeled as deception and a refusal to support China's development aspirations in Tibet.

It is strange that a leader who has been accused of human rights breaches in places like Tibet and Xinjiang is being honored for his human rights activities.

During her controversial visit to China, then-UN Human Rights Chief Michelle Bachelet was given this book with Xi's comments on human rights, photographs of which were extensively distributed in Chinese media, according to the Tibet Rights Collectives.

Notably, China argues that Tibet has always been a part of China, despite historical documentation demonstrating that Tibet has been an autonomous country with its own flag, army, and treaties with foreign countries.

Scholars have also contended that Tibet has always been an autonomous country with its own army, flag, and passport and that Tibet has never been a part of China. (ANI)
