BookBaby and Speechki Join Hands to Revolutionize the Audio Book Market

Speechki, a company that uses artificial intelligence to produce audiobooks with synthetic narration, and BookBaby, a pioneer in self-publishing, has recently announced a partnership that will enable BookBaby authors to quickly and affordably create audiobooks and sell them through the BookBaby Bookshop while earning industry-leading payouts.

According to BookBaby President James Foley, "all we do at BookBaby is centered on placing writers to attract readers in the marketplace." "A vital component of that mission is ensuring that authors receive the majority of profits from book sales.

With our approach, writers may decide the list price for their audiobooks, and if they sell, they will receive 75% of that amount. For instance, if the author charges $19.99 for their audiobook, they will make $14.99 from each sale.

Since the de facto industry commission for audiobooks is currently in the range of only 40%, this is a game changer for authors and publishers looking to sell their audiobooks. When all the retailer does is list the book on an e-commerce website, why should they receive 60% of the profit?

In the US and across the world, the market for audiobooks is expanding. The US audiobook industry has reached $2 billion, and the American Publishers Association predicts that by 2023, audiobook sales will have surpassed eBook sales.

According to Foley, audiobooks are now a requirement for everybody who publishes books. We have overcome the main obstacles preventing authors from joining the market with our alliance. Making audiobooks is no longer expensive or complicated. A work is uploaded, a language is chosen from a list of 77, and between 30 and 50 artificial voice actors are offered to authors.

Additionally, the narration sounds fantastic—pretty much identical to human narration—better even than some of the person-narrated audiobooks I've listened to, and at a much lower price! In about 5 days, we complete the task and provide audio proof.

The BookBaby BookShop is an effective sales channel that provides authors with strong marketing and analytics tools, such as real-time user activity on product pages, real-time sales reporting, couponing, email list building, landing page customization options, and digital advertising programs.

"We are pleased to add this breakthrough audiobook program to the range of services we currently give to writers," Foley said of the collaboration. We want BookBaby writers to connect with audiobook lovers, in the same manner, they do print and eBook readers as audiobooks continue to gain popularity.

Speechki is the ideal collaborator for both us and our writers. Authors can make free revisions as part of this service if there is anything about the audiobook narration they don't like after the original AI narration has been completed.

Finding the ideal vocal talent, settling on a price, and figuring out how and where to record and edit the audiobook are all hassles we take care of for you. Our collaboration with Speechki makes everything very easy and economical.

The audiobook creation system from Speechki gives US and international publishers a new method for creating audiobooks. Speechki delivers AI and human proof-listening, free corrections, and more than 400 voices in 77 languages and dialects as part of its service. It can swiftly and cheaply make audiobooks compared to more conventional methods.

CEO Dima Abramov of Speechki stated, "Speechki is thrilled to engage with publishers of all sizes. Only 5% of printed books may be purchased as audiobooks. There is no better partner when it comes to collaborating with writers who self-publish than BookBaby. We aim to produce one million audiobooks over the next several years.
