On Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid homage to the late former President APJ Abdul Kalam by unveiling the book 'Memories Never Die' in Rameswaram. The book, co-authored by APJM Nasima Maraikayar and scientist YS Rajan, is a tribute to the life and legacy of Kalam. During his two-day visit to Tamil Nadu's Ramanathapuram district, Mr. Shah also visited the Ramanathaswamy temple.

During the book unveiling ceremony, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan and Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai were in attendance. Mr Shah, speaking at the event, expressed his belief that under PM Modi's leadership, students and start-ups in India now have more opportunities in the field of space science. He added that he is confident that Abdul Kalam's dream regarding space science will be fulfilled through the PM's innovative approach, leading India to become a global leader in this field. Mr Shah also recalled the roadmap for development highlighted in Kalam's book 'India 2020: Vision for the New Millennium', which emphasized the importance of recognizing India's potential, developing a technology-based economy, and achieving balanced growth between agriculture and industry, as well as between cities and villages.

The Home Minister also paid a visit to APJ Abdul Kalam's house in Rameswaram. Following this, Mr. Shah went to the Rameswaram temple where he performed aarti and abhishekam. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and shared on Twitter that this temple is a significant place in the Hindu religion as it is where Lord Ram worshipped Lord Shiva. He also took the time to pray for the well-being of the people and for the prosperity of the nation.

Mr. Shah is currently in Tamil Nadu to kick off the campaign for next year's Lok Sabha elections. Last Friday, he launched the Tamil Nadu BJP's "En Mann, En Makkal" (My Land, My People) padayatra and participated in a rally at Rameswaram.
