Rahul Gandhi Questions Publisher’s Claims on ‘Four Stars of Destiny’ Availability

By accusing the publisher of Four Stars of Destiny, a memoir written by former Army Chief Manoj Mukund Naravane, of dishonesty regarding the availability of the book, Rahul Gandhi has reignited a dispute.

According to Gandhi, who spoke to the media outside of Parliament, the memoir can be found through online channels; in earlier statements made by Naravane, the author has publicly stated that he believes the book would be available for sale. "Either the publisher or the author is misleading the public because both cannot be right," he stated.

The publisher, Penguin Random House India, has categorically disputed Gandhi's assertion, maintaining that the memoir is not yet officially available in any format (print and digital). Any copy currently in circulation is unauthorized and violates copyright law, the company added.

This has fueled a larger political argument, particularly after Gandhi referred to the memoir during a Parliament session when the government challenged citing UN-published materials.

Additionally, reports of the unauthorized distribution of "Pre-Print" copies of the memoir have led to the commencement of an investigation by the Delhi Police into this matter, exposing further controversy relating to the unpublished memoir of Manoj Mukund Naravane.
