Kattimani, Vice-Chancellor of the Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh, advised writers on Tuesday to focus on children's literature in order to stimulate leisure reading among youngsters and teach them moral teachings and ethics.

During a function held at the Vizianagaram District Central Library, he was releasing Pillalu Rasina Kalinga Seema Kathalu by writer Badri Kurmarao.

Dr. Kattimani stated that several outstanding writers, including Ruskin Bond, R.K. Narayan, Subhadra Sen Gupta, Paro Anand, and Sudha Murthy, have made significant contributions to children's literature. He praised Mr. Kurmarao for inspiring 120 pupils to gather and record folklore (which was later assembled and published as Pillalu Rasina Kalinga Seema Kathalu).

The Vice-Chancellor promised financial assistance to writers who contributed children's novels and short stories in regional languages. Among those present were G.S. Chalam, M.V.R. Krishnaji, Jakku Ramakrishna, Cheekati Diwakar, and others.
