<![CDATA[ Snigdha Jha: Poet, Writer and Academician ]]> Snigdha Jha is a writer, poet and academician whose literary and teaching journeys are closely intertwined. A postgraduate in English from the University of Delhi, she has taught as a Guest Assistant Professor at several colleges affiliated with Delhi University and later at Amity University Patna. She currently serves as a permanent faculty member at a government-aided institution in Bihar, where she teaches and mentors students from underserved communities.

Following the submission of her PhD thesis in 2015, writing became an important form of emotional expression for her. Her poems and short stories have since appeared in numerous national and international anthologies. Rooted in personal experience, her writing frequently explores grief, familial relationships, memory, love and the complex emotions people often struggle to articulate.

Her solo poetry collection, Miscellaneous Meanderings, was published in 2025. Conceived on the first death anniversary of her father, the collection emerged from a deeply personal experience of loss. While grief lies at its emotional core, the poems also reflect upon motherhood, marriage, family and the many relationships that shape an individual’s inner world. The collection received the 21st Century Emily Dickinson Award.

In 2026, she published अनकही: Unsaid, Unkept, Unexplored Emotions, a bilingual collection featuring poetry in both Hindi and English. The book explores feelings that are experienced deeply but rarely expressed, allowing the two languages to carry different shades of emotion and cultural memory.

Her transition from metropolitan classrooms to teaching in Bihar’s rural landscape has further broadened her perspective. The experiences and aspirations of her students continue to enrich her understanding of human emotion and bring new depth to her writing.
