The event will be launched by  Navtej Sarna, the Indian author and former Indian envoy to the United States and will have more  than 40 publishers. The 10-day fair is to create the love for reading and literature among  the people through different activities. 

Here is the overview of the Fair 

The book fair will comprise  Hindi Kavi Sammelan, Yuva Sahiti sessions, multilingual poets,  mushairas, short story readings and discussions on various subjects. Other activities that will be conducted for children include painting  competition, poetry recitation and storytelling sessions. 

The opening ceremony will be headed by the President of  Sahitya Akademi, Madhav Kaushik and Vice President Kumud Sharma.  Some of the special guests include Ranjana Chopra, Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor, Ministry of  Culture and Uma Nanduri, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture. 

The fair will also have  cultural performances by young artists every day to ensure that visitors have an enriching literary experience. 

The  Pustakayan Book Fair will be held from December 6 to December 15, thus,  it is a book, creativity, and culture exchange forum, where everyone is welcomed to come and get  into the world of books.
