Ginny Smith Younce is not a newcomer to Penguin Press, having been working with them since 2009 and holding the title of Vice President and Executive Editor prior to this. In the course of her work there, Smith Younce has managed to build a very extensive list of authors which includes such famous figures as Jonathan Haidt, Celeste Ng, Nate Silver, Emily Oster, David Levering Lewis, Derek Thompson, Pamela Druckerman, and Senator Raphael G. Warnock.

Speaking about the promotion and praising her achievements, the president of Penguin Press, Scott Moyers, mentioned that the list Smith Younce has built was "among the most formidable in the industry" and that Ginny is "the ideal colleague." According to Moyers, Smith Younce has proven to be both a very generous and collaborative person while always managing to maintain high editorial standards.

The changeover is taking place at a very significant time in the history of Penguin Press, considering that the founding president and editor-in-chief, Ann Godoff, passed away only a month ago.

In anticipation of the challenges that await Younce in her new job, people will be watching keenly as she continues to build on the legacy of the imprint founded in 2003 by Ann Godoff.
