            <![CDATA[ <p>Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL), with the cooperation of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and DC Books, created 'From Vanchi to Metro', a coffee table book that narrates the story of the history of various forms of transit in Kochi.</p><p>On Tuesday, industry minister P Rajeeve released the book at a celebration at the High Court Water Metro Terminal, which was attended by mayor M Anilkumar, MLA T J Vinod, KMRL MD Loknath Behera, IOC officials, and others.</p><p>Behera stated that the book, which can also be used as a reference book for researchers and students, summarises Kochi's history.</p><p>It describes how the city expanded from Fort Kochi and Mattancherry in the 14th century to become a wide expanse connected by harbours, highways, cycle lanes, rail tracks, metro lines, and Water Metro.<br>DC Books officials have stated that the digital edition of the book would be released soon.</p> ]]>
