            <![CDATA[ <p>Partners in Crime follows the story of Gaynor Tilby as she navigates the challenges of growing up deaf in a hearing world.</p><p>The book, released in August, highlights the role of hearing dogs and the author's work as a probation officer in the Criminal Justice System. "Well-meaning professionals focused on my disability instead of my ability. Classroom bullies left a lasting legacy that deafness should be hidden," said Ms. Tilby from Millom.</p><p>In 2012, Ms. Tilby was paired with Indigo, a hearing dog trained by the charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. She no longer faces her disability alone with Indigo by her side.</p><p>According to her, Indigo's positive deaf identity, charming personality, and ability to spread joy have made a significant difference in her life. She was inspired to write this book because of the many funny stories she has experienced with him and his unwavering support during difficult times.</p><p>Ms. Tilby will sell copies of Partners in Crime at the Millom and Broughton show on August 26, with all proceeds benefiting Hearing Dogs for Deaf People charity.</p> ]]>
