Nagpur Book Festival 2025 Set to Host 9-Day Literary Extravaganza in November

The Nagpur Book Festival 2025 is to be hosted in the city with a nine-day event between November 22-30 at Reshimbagh ground with more than 300 stalls and millions of books.

The festival's objective is to reframe the city's cultural landscape, gathering noted literary personalities like Shiv Khera, Anand Kumar, and Amish Tripathi. These writers, along with other writers, poets, thinkers, and storytellers, will engage in discussions, readings, and debates during the event.

Organisers emphasized the fact that the festival will be a space for conversation and commerce alike, gathering writers, creatives, dreamers, and readers in one place.

The new development was announced on Tuesday at a press conference by National Book Trust chairman Prof Milind Marathe, director Yuvraj Malik, and Zero Mile Youth Foundation director Samay Bansod, among others.

With the support of National Book Trust, Ministry of Education, Govt of Maharashtra, and Zero Mile Youth Foundation, the festival is supported by five foremost universities, such as RTMNU Nagpur, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Gondwana University, Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwa Vidyalaya, and IIM Nagpur.

This is a major addition for Nagpur, which has before now organized smaller book exhibitions, bringing it on par with prominent literary events in Delhi, Jaipur, and Kolkata.

Apart from book purchases, the festival will also include literary sessions, cultural events, activities for children, workshops, and offers of discounts on books, to benefit families as well as devoted readers.

The atmosphere is bound to be carnival-like, with literature crossing over into performance, and publishers and bookellers from all over the country showcasing their wares. For Nagpur, the festival is a strategic move to make the city a hub of learning and creativity in India.

Organizers pointed out that the central location of Nagpur makes it a perfect place for bringing in multi-tiered audiences and looks to establishing a lasting tradition that expands with every edition. As preparations edge closer towards the actual event, anticipation has been growing. The Nagpur Book Festival 2025 is expected to be a game-changer in the cultural fabric of the city, setting up a memorable celebration that will go on beyond the closing of the last stall and putting away the last book.
