School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi opened the fourth annual book fair in Nagapattinam on Friday night. A minimum of 60 publishers and book houses from south India are taking part in the fair, and thousands of books are targeted to be sold within the 11 days.
Dozens of writers, poets, educationists, playwrights, lyricists, debate show judges, and orators, are speaking on the topic, while students, drama artistes, and dance troupes are singing songs, dancing, and enacting skits daily.
There are approximately 105 stalls arranged for sale of books, and 30 stalls were provided to the departments for showcasing different govt schemes. co-organised by TheBookSellers and Publishers Association of South India (BAPASI).
The publicity and information department organized a photo exhibition to elucidate different schemes and initiatives undertaken by the Tamil Nadu government.
The book fair is conducted by the Nagapattinam district administration, school education department, Tamil Nadu, and directorate of public libraries at the Industrial Training Institute from Aug 1 to 11. It is jointly hosted by TheBookSellers and Publishers Association of South India (BAPASI).
