Embodying Iran's book publishing world, the Iran Book and Literature House is exhibiting 1,000 Arabic-language books, IRNA reported.

On the occasion of the 1,500th birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), a special section has been allocated for 100 books on the life and teachings of the Prophet.

Another special section promotes Iran's record in Quran publication and printing. The pavilion also showcases 300 Islamic jurisprudence and seminary sciences titles, 70 books on ethics, and 20 publications on the Resistance movement and the late Gen. Qassem Soleimani.

Besides, Shiraz-based calligrapher Majid Rastgar is with the Iranian delegation and showcases modern Iranian calligraphy to Iraqi guests. There is also an exhibition of 20 calligraphic paintings of the Quranic characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Mehdi Mohseni, Iran Book and Literature House Deputy Economy and Culture, and director of the Iranian pavilion in the fair, spoke on September 11 in Arabic about "Interaction and Cooperation between the Nations of Iran and Iraq in the Development of Calligraphy and Quranic Manuscripts." He touched on the heritage of great Iranian calligraphers Ibn Muqla and Ibn Bawwab, who were active in Baghdad during the 4th and 5th centuries AH.

On the same day, Mohseni discussed the matter with Iraq's Deputy Minister of Culture and head of the Iraqi Publishers' Union, who also runs the book fair. In the course of the meeting, the Iraqi representative emphasized the need to develop Arabic-language materials on Iranology and said: "Iraqis are highly interested in Iranian history, but there are few Arabic sources on this topic that can be found in Iraq."

On the third day of the exhibition, Mohseni also had a meeting with the public relations head of the Great Mosque of Kufa. The mosque has a vast amount of cultural activities and a special manuscript library. The mosque official was interested in collaborating with the Iran Book and Literature House to make Iranian religious, literary, and cultural works popular in Iraq.

The 26th Baghdad International Book Fair will continue until September 21 at the Baghdad International Fairgrounds.
