Medicine has been central to Dr. Henry’s family for three generations. His grandfather treated patients affected by leprosy during a period of intense social stigma, while his father, Dr. David Henry, has served the Bilaspur community for more than three decades. His brother, Dr. Daniel Henry, continues this legacy through a free community clinic.
Dr. Henry has represented the field of dermatology at national and international conferences. He serves as Secretary of the Bilaspur Society of Dermatologists and was recognised as Young Dermatologist of the Year by IADVL Chhattisgarh in 2025. He is also associated with three world records in dermatology, including a Guinness World Record.
As an author, Dr. Dennis Henry wrote The Indian Skin: Take Back Control of Your Skin in a World Obsessed with Fairness, Filters, and False Promises. The book is a science-led skincare guide created specifically for Indian skin types and Indian climatic conditions.
Blending dermatological knowledge with cultural history, the book examines Ayurvedic skincare traditions, Mughal beauty rituals, colonial fairness ideals, modern filters, influencer-driven trends, and misleading cosmetic claims. It challenges fairness bias and imported beauty standards while helping readers understand skincare ingredients, common skin concerns, traditional practices such as ubtan, and when professional dermatological care may be necessary.
Through his medical practice and writing, Dr. Henry seeks to make evidence-based dermatology accessible, encourage healthier skincare decisions, and help readers develop a more informed and confident relationship with their skin.
His book is available on Amazon.
