Brijesh Srivastava is an infrastructure leader, author and IIT Roorkee alumnus with more than 36 years of experience in large-scale public development. He spent a significant part of his career with RITES Ltd., a multidisciplinary engineering and consultancy organisation under the Government of India, where he rose to the position of General Manager.

His professional journey has covered building construction, railway infrastructure, industrial projects and large-scale programme management. He has worked on assignments undertaken for the Government of India, state governments, public sector organisations and international agencies, including the World Bank. His responsibilities have involved navigating complex tendering processes, field supervision, quality control and coordination across multiple stakeholders.

Years of working in demanding professional environments led him to observe an important imbalance: organisations devote considerable attention to the resilience of the systems and structures they build, but often overlook the resilience of the people responsible for building them.

This insight became the foundation of his book, The Mindful Engineer: Structural Stress Management for the Urban Professional. Drawing upon engineering principles, the book presents stress as a form of accumulated load that requires regular assessment, maintenance and recovery. It introduces a Micro-Mindfulness framework comprising short, structured practices that can be incorporated into commutes, meetings and other moments within a demanding workday.

Through his writing, Brijesh seeks to make mindfulness practical and relevant for professionals who may not have the time or inclination for lengthy routines. His approach is grounded in lived professional experience and offers readers a structured way to develop greater focus, composure and resilience without disconnecting from the realities of urban working life.

His books are available on Amazon.
