Dry Ice: A True Story of a False Rape Complaint by Peter Joyce

For the people who actually care about men, this book is a must. It wouldn’t be wrong to call this book, an eye witnessed account of a modern witch hunt. Stages of despair, yet a humorous memoir is what keeps you intrigued in the book.  As the name goes, the piece is an account of a false rape complaint. As realistic as the account may seem, it could scare you with what the reality is or it could be with anyone anywhere.

A professor in Criminology, Peter Joyce vividly tries to encapsulate the readers towards a fictional reality. This can be seen as a single handed attempt to question why we “must believe the victim’. A tale of worthless accusations by police on an innocent man, the book reflects on how the eyes of justice could change as soon as the victim is ‘believed’.

A 238-page memoir, it could mind boggle you in no time from the world you’re living in, to the world which actually exists. This is a must-read account, especially for the young adults of the modern day. It gives a clear visual of how quickly the law and police can bend towards the ‘believed’ individual.
