<![CDATA[ The U.S. Embassy in Greece and the Athens Comics Library Welcome New York Times Bestselling Cartoonist Colleen Doran for Virtual Event ]]> on Wednesday, April 7, 19.00-20.30. The event is in collaboration with The Comic Con. Colleen Doran will share insights on her work, her creative process, and her experiences in the U.S. comics industry – including working with Marvel Comics and DC Comics, as well as creating illustrations for top writers like Neil Gaiman and Margaret Atwood.  She will also answer questions from the audience. The event is free and open to the public and will be broadcast on the Athens Comics Library Facebook page. The event will be in English and no registration is required. As part of her collaboration with the U.S. Embassy and Athens Comics Library, Colleen Doran will also lead a “Writing and Drawing Comics” workshop specifically directed toward girls and women who are interested  in careers in this field on Thursday, April 8, 19.00-20.30.  This workshop will cover a range of topics including: the creative process and storytelling theory; different styles of writing, art, and storytelling; and getting noticed and published. Colleen’s published works number in the hundreds and have been featured by The Walt Disney Company, Marvel Entertainment, DC Comics, Image Comics, Lucasfilm, Dark Horse Comics, Harper Collins, Houghton Mifflin, Sony, and Scholastic.
