The innovative concept of Dandy’s World was developed by Qwel in partnership with BlushCrunch Studio and initially launched as a popular survival game on Roblox. Its uniqueness lay in blending the mascot style aesthetic with the horror genre narrative.

In Dandy’s World, players find themselves immersed in the ominous Gardenview Center, playing as the Toons and overcoming obstacles while avoiding the Twisteds characters. Players keep coming back due to its multi-layered storytelling, dynamic characters, and unexpected gameplay.

The game has seen explosive growth since its initial launch in June 2024, receiving over 6 billion visits and welcoming over 90 million players globally. It has successfully made the transition from gaming to merchandise in the form of toys and clothing, and its worldwide expansion is scheduled for 2026.

For Qwel, this publishing deal is deeply personal. Reflecting on the journey, the creator shared that working with Scholastic feels surreal, especially after growing up attending its iconic book fairs. With a vast universe still waiting to be explored, the upcoming books aim to give fans a deeper look into the story.

The first titles will include a guidebook and a novel set to release in spring 2027, followed by a graphic novel in fall 2027. All books are being designed for readers aged 8 and above and will be co-written by Qwel alongside a team of writers.

Scholastic has secured global rights to publish across multiple formats, including print, eBooks, and audiobooks, as well as activity books and journals ensuring the Dandy’s World universe reaches fans in more ways than ever.

According to Scholastic’s editorial team, the goal is to carry the same depth, creativity, and immersive storytelling from the game into the books something fans can truly look forward to.
