She declared, "I think the day we lose up on public education is a really sad day. "I feel like this specific incident has given me more motivation to act," she said.

She told ABC News that she and her students celebrated independent Reading and a love of books on Reading Mondays.

According to her, students can discuss what they enjoy reading and what they are currently reading.
