An eight-week alternative academic calendar for students, parents, and teachers at upper primary classes has been released by the Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ to enhance the teaching-learning process during COVID-19 pandemic. The academic calendar has been developed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) under the guidance of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

The calendar guides teachers on the use of various technological and social media tools. It further guides teachers to use SMS on mobile phones or voice call facilities for students devoid of the Internet or may not be able to use different social media tools.

“This Calendar contains detailed guidelines for teachers on the use of technology & social media tools to impart education while the students are at home,” said Mr Pokhriyal in his tweet.
