            <![CDATA[ <p>A huge scam related to the distribution of fake NCERT textbooks has been cracked down upon by the district administration of Hazaribagh, with FIRs being filed against three bookshops according to the provisions of the Copyright Act.</p><p>This happened as officials identified the distribution of fake NCERT textbooks of Class 9th from the city, leading to investigations to ascertain that the process was being carried out illegally.</p><p>Sangam Book Depot, Gyan Bhandar-1 and Gyan Bhandar-2 have been included in the FIRs. It is reported that frequent complaints were received about the selling of fake books being passed off as real NCERT books.</p><p>Following the orders of Deputy Commissioner Hemant Sati, raids were conducted simultaneously at all three bookshops. Upon conducting the inspections, officials discovered many books without the hologram of NCERT, using low quality paper and printing.<br><br>The initial findings show that the books were not authentic books by NCERT. These books were seized in the presence of witnesses at the time of the raid.</p><p>While interrogating the shopkeepers, it was found out that they were just selling old books that they had bought from students. However, authorities feel that this might be a case of an organized racket of selling counterfeit textbooks.</p><p>After the books were seized, the FIRs were registered under the Copyright Act of 1957. The district administration had clearly stated that they will take stern measures in case of any malpractice in the educational sector.</p><p>In this regard, it has been suggested that parents should buy their textbooks only from authorized distributors.</p> ]]>
