            <![CDATA[ <p>A book fair will be held in Leh from July 12 to July 16 for the first time, thanks to a partnership between the National Book Trust (NBT) and the administration of UT Ladakh.</p><p>To review preparations and steps for its smooth and effective conduct, Divisional Commissioner Saugat Biswas presided over a meeting with key officials from the UT Administration and NBT.</p><p>Publishers with books for all age groups will participate in the five-day event, which will take place at the Indoor Stadium in Leh. There will also be special seminars and activities for kids, including ones that encourage creative writing, poster-making, storytelling, and encounters with writers.</p><p>The active involvement of Ladakhi authors, researchers, illustrators, creative artists, publishers, academicians, etc., was discussed in addition to utilities like drinking water, lavatory facilities, power, parking, on-site medical team, fire, and safety. The Divisional Commissioner encouraged the responsible Department to guarantee the exhibition of high-quality publications and instructed NBT to ensure designating one stand each for Leh and Kargil. &nbsp;</p><p>In order to help Ladakhi students take competitive exams, it was also requested of NBT to include literature on these tests.</p><p>Additionally, Biswas gave the appropriate department instructions to vigorously promote the fair via all forms of media in order to achieve the highest possible attendance, particularly from schoolchildren.</p> ]]>
