According to reports, Wenders stated that artists should oppose politics instead of joining in.</p><p>Talking about this, Roy has commented that this opinion by Wenders is 'jaw-dropping' and 'shocking and disgusting'.</p><p>In addition, she opined that artists, writers, and filmmakers ought to voice their denunciation against such oppression and acts of injustices than being silent in such times. As regards the war situation in Gaza, she referred to the situation as genocide against Palestinians, accusing wealthy countries of being in cahoots in the process.</p><p>According to Arundhati, the future generations will judge those who remain silent when oppression occurs.</p><p>The resignation has sparked debate on the role played by artists and films in times of international disputes.
